Donor Bill of Rights

At the Jasmine Moran Children's Museum, we rely on visitors', donors', volunteers', and community support to keep our Museum an interactive and exciting source for childrens' learning.

Out of respect to all of our supporters for their selfless philanthropy, and in our efforts to be a transparent business operation, we ensure that every donor has the right to:

  1. Know the organization's mission, the intent and purpose of the donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
  2. Know the identity of those serving on the Jasmine Moran's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its responsibilities.
  3. Have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
  4. Receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
  5. Know their donations are handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
  6. Maintain all donor relationships with Museum individuals and those volunteers related to the organization professionally in nature.
  7. Know whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization, or hired solicitors.
  8. Have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.
  9. Able to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers.
